Principal Artist / Animator
Noodlecake is looking for a motivated Artist to join our team. Over the past 9 years, Noodlecake Games has released multiple award-winning mobile titles and helped dozens of indie devs launch games on both iOS, Android & PC platforms.
Noodlecake prides itself in being a small, lean company. We expect employees to be able to work independently as well as within small internal teams. Every employee may need to wear several different hats as the technology landscape changes. Thus, we are looking for someone that can hit the ground running and that has a “full-stack” of skills.
Although knowledge of game development is a plus, it is not strictly required. We are focused on finding excellent employees that have proven themselves through hard work, are eager to learn, can adapt to new technologies, and love solving problems.
Partner with art directors to grasp the project’s visual identity, art direction, and brand guidelines.
Conceptualize and produce characters, environments, props, and animations.
Create assets (menus, animation, HUD, icons, buttons, world maps, etc.)
Create assets for marketing team (App Store featuring, social media, etc.)
Find balance between artistic aspects and technical constraints.
Ensure that assets respect the artistic direction of the game and meet quality standards;
Offer creative and technical feedback to the team.
Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge of 2D/3D design and animation tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, Spine, Blender, 3DS Max)
Familiarity with game engines (e.g. Unity or Unreal), game limitations, and prototyping tools
Self motivated! Proactive, organized, detail-oriented and independent
Excellent problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Motivation to reach out for feedback and adapt to it
Familiarity with scripting language and shader writing is a plus
